Access and Inclusion
We strive to support an inclusive arts scene in Glenelg Shire, bringing together people from all abilities and backgrounds. Many of our performances are ideal for people with visual or hearing impairments, people with limited language, and their companions.
The Portland Arts Centre has:
- a hearing induction loop
- good sightlines from all seats
- accessible toilet located at the rear of the building
- capacity for two wheelchairs and a recharge point
- level access to the stage for presenters or workshop participants
- a social story to step you through a visit to the PAC
For seating requirements or other assistance, please contact us.
Some sessions may be specifically designated as relaxed performances. During these sessions, lighting and sound levels will be more neutral, and audience members are free to move and vocalise as they need. These sessions are an important way to make the arts accessible to people of all abilities.
If you would find these relaxed settings too disruptive for your own enjoyment, please choose another session or show.
Companion Cards
ARTSGlenelg welcomes Companion Card holders, to encourage full community participation in the arts. On presentation of the card, the holder is entitled to one complimentary ticket to accompany their paid ticket (full price or concession, based on their eligibility).

The Portland Arts Centre embraces diversity and is committed to fostering an inclusive community. If you have questions or feedback on how we can better support your visit, let us know.
