Scrimshaw was the art of scratching a design into an egg, a shell or a whale tooth. It was popular with sailors on long voyages. In this hands-on activity at the museum you will explore some of the scrimshaw in the Glenelg Shire Cultural Collection and then try your hand at the craft yourself using a block of soap which you can then take home.
