Scoundrels In The Cove

A graphic of two fists in hand-cuffs

Come join CEMA Theatre Group characters from the 1920 laneways for a fun night of theatrical interaction.

Scoundrels will be operating in two parts:

Part One

Come to the Julia Street Laneway starting at 6:30pm where it is free of charge to wander the lane amongst our scoundrels.   Hear the story of the notorious 'Squizzy' Taylor, stories of 'the roaring 20's' and a variety of characters such as corrupt police, 'Daughters of sin' and many other scoundrels.

Part Two

A two course dinner brought to you by Cove Fine Foods with a short play to be performed between courses.  This is sure to be a fun and tasty night.  Bookings are essential - no walk-ups on the night.

Please note that Scoundrels is an alcohol free event.

Scoundrels In The Cove is an interactive performance meaning that our actors will engage with you. For this reason please read the below some terms of entry.
  1. Don’t touch:  Our actors have been trained and will not touch you so please do not touch them.
  2. Photos:  You will have plenty of opportunities to get photos with our characters. Please be aware that some have stories they will be telling so please be respectful with the times you ask for photos.
  3. Character Hogging:  We want you to stay for as long as you would like and encourage you to please revisit some of the characters multiple times.  Please be mindful that our characters are going to be seen by everyone so please prevent from chasing the same characters around the yard continuously.
  4. We are Scoundrels:  Please note the laneway is filled will some nicer characters along with some true scoundrels.  These scoundrels will interact with you which could include some playful negative commentary towards you or your group.  Please know this is just a performance and anything said is part of the play and not meant to be taken personally.
