Brendan Skinner
Brendan Skinner began playing music at a young age, starting on guitar before moving freely between piano and other instruments, drawn to music through periods of intense focus as both a necessity and a relief that carried its own reward. Throughout the 2000s, he was an active presence in the Victorian music scene, sharing stages with artists including Josh Pyke, Juan Alban (Epicure), The Panics, Tex Perkins, and Carus Thompson.
In 2013, he released the EPConclusions with The Relevant Advice Club, alongside ongoing solo work and continued collaboration with Juan Alban. After an extended period away from live performance due to health issues, Skinner has returned with renewed focus, writing introspective songs that are shaped differently each night, built improvisationally and resolved with a clear instinct for when to build and when to pull back.
