CancelledElectronic Music Making for Emerging & Established Musicians

Unfortunately this session has been cancelled. If you are aged 12-25, our youth session will still proceed on Monday 10 November.

Lucija performing as ŽIVA.

In this session, Croatian-Australian artist Lucija Ivšić aka ŽIVA introduces participants to creative approaches to music technology and solo performance. The workshop explores how minimal setups using a laptop, a MIDI device, and live looping can open new possibilities for composing and performing alone.

The session begins with an overview of various approaches to performance, live looping, and workflow, followed by a detailed look at the equipment ŽIVA uses in her practice. Participants will see how different tools, both hardware and software based, and configurations can be adapted to suit individual needs and styles.

ŽIVA will then perform a live piece, breaking down her process step-by-step to reveal how sound, software, and performance intersect in real time. The workshop concludes with an interactive segment, where participants can explore the equipment, view project files, and ask practical questions about developing their own setups.

This workshop is suitable for musicians, producers, and performers interested in expanding their creative process or learning how to compose and perform solo using music technology. No prior experience is required.
