Exhibited between March and April 2024
A Portland Story
A Portland Story shines a spotlight on aspects of the history of Portland since its conception as a town. The Glenelg Shire Cultural Collection contains over 10,000 objects – photographs, archives, costume, artworks, and natural history. These objects tell stories – they are a window into the past and shine a light on the people that made and used them.
The objects and art in this exhibition offer a glimpse into Portland’s history. From the businesses and trades that were the heart of the community through to K. S. Anderson’s magnificent deep-water harbour.
